Magnolia Press Coffee Review

Image
This week I visited Magnolia Press Coffee located at 418 S 8th St. Started by Chip and Joanna Gaines, this coffee shop is extremely well-known and a large part of the tourist attraction that the Gaines family has created in the Waco area. They first opened the doors to this shop in 2018, wanting to build something that allows individuals to hangout, relax, char with friends, and enjoy some outstanding coffee and pasties.  The space inside gives off a warm, vintage feel that immediately makes you feel at home. You can smell the aroma of fresh brewed coffee right when you enter the building. There are many different seating options located inside with couches, tables and stools to choose from. Towards the back of the coffee shop are multiple spaces and booths for a more quiet and secluded area, which I found would be perfect for studying or working on homework. The brick walls and murmur of conversation made for the perfect environment. There was even an old renovated train car booth...

For Keeps Coffee Shop Review

Image
This week I visited For Keeps Coffee Shop located at 3619 Bosque Blvd. This coffee shop was founded by Cameron and Danielle Philgreen, real estate investors who are passionate about making the ideal drinks. Although further than most coffee shops from schools campus, it is still located in the heart of Waco and is fairly new to the area. As an avid coffee enthusiast, I was surprised I hadn't visited this shop. With lots of positive reviews and highly recommended online, it was great to finally get to visit For Keeps Coffee. Like every other coffee shop I have visited the last couple weeks, I ordered an Iced Americano with Oat Milk and Honey. A large bar where they serve drinks in located against the side of the building, and provides customers with a less crowded space. The service was exceptional, and I received my drink shortly after ordering. The coffee was delicious, and it was obvious that they used high quality coffee beans and paid great attention to detail when making your ...

Starbuck's Coffee Review

Image
This week I visited Starbuck's Coffee shop located at 1703 S 18th St. Starbucks has many locations throughout Waco, TX, and is extremely well-known. As an avid coffee enthusiast, I couldn't not review Starbucks. Starbucks is the world's largest chain of coffeehouses. With 30,000 locations across 80 countries, it is one the most recognized and valued brands worldwide. The location I visited is extremely close to Baylor campus and easily accessible from the interstate. This shop is also within just a couple blocks of where I currently live, which made it an easy choice for my next coffee shop visit. I ordered an Iced Americano with Oat Milk and Honey. The service was slow, which was a little unusual as I have never really had an issue with service at a Starbucks before. It took nearly five minutes for them to finally come to the register and take my order, even though there wasn't a line. After waiting longer than normal, I got my drink. It was overly sweet and watered do...

Common Grounds Coffee Review

Image
This week I visited Common Grounds located on 1123 S. 8th Street. This coffee shop's location is very special to Baylor, as it is located in a very convenient spot for students. A short walk is all it takes for Baylor students. They also have a location in the Baylor SUB, which is located on school campus. Because their locations are extremely Baylor-centric, they are a favorite amongst students. It has been roughly a year or two since I last went to a Common Grounds for coffee or studying purposes, so I was excited to see what the environment was like and how the coffee tasted. I ordered an Iced American with Oat Milk and Honey. The service was excellent, and my drink was made quickly. The taste of the drink was not on par with the service. The coffee was bitter and lacked the flavor I look for in this drink. It was also very water down, which was disappointing to say the least. As an avid coffee enjoyer, I more then likely would not order my coffee from here until a significant c...
