Lighthouse Coffee & Wine Review

Image
This week I visited Lighthouse Coffee & Wine. This coffee shop is located at 624 Washington Ave, right in the center of downtown Waco. As stated in its' name, it serves both coffee and wine. Providing these services makes this shop extremely unique and provides a sense of community for those who stop by.  When I entered the coffee shop, the first thing I noticed was how small the space was. The small space provides intimacy and comfort, which makes for a great study or work environment. It made it much easier to enjoy my coffee while being in a space that felt welcoming and less overwhelming. The small space can also has its disadvantages, such as limited seating availability and a lack of variety. There are only a couple tables scattered throughout the coffee shop, which can make it difficult to find a spot thats enjoyable. The small space also can become crowded quickly. I noticed that after only a short while the coffee shop tables filled up and there was no more space for n...

Dichotomy Coffee & Spirits Review

Image
This week I visited Dichotomy Coffee & Spirits located at 508 Austin Ave. It is in the heart of downtown Waco, providing a versatile space with both indoor and outdoor seating. They offer coffee, spirits, and pastries. Because of its central location downtown, it is a great place to get away from the busyness of school and work. Before even entering the building, it was clear to me that Dichotomy was well-rounded and would leave a lasting impression on me. When I initially walked in, the first thing I did was to look for a good spot to study. I noticed the various types of seating the place offers. From couches to normal seating with tables, Dichotomy has many options for seating. I found a comfortable spot and began to my schoolwork. The music was lively and loud, which wasn't ideal for my studying, but I found that many customers enjoyed it. After a short while, I found it was time to get my drink. I ordered an Iced Americano with Oat Milk and Honey, and was not disappointed...

Glory Bell Coffee Shop Review

Image
This week I visited Glory Bell Coffee Shop located at 600 Columbus Ave. Before visiting, I made sure to do some prior research on the coffee and what to expect. An article titled "The Largest Coffee Shop in Waco" was able to give me a good background as to what Glory Bell was all about. This article emphasizes the size of the shop, how family-friendly it is, as well as the layout. The word that came to mind after reading this article was "community." It was obvious that this coffee shop was placed here to appeal to the local community and provide a fun space for all individuals. Right when I entered the coffee shop I noticed how open and welcoming the space was. The main area was massive, with tall ceilings and lots of floor space that included a play area for kids. Worship music was playing as well, which brought about a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. It is connected to the Glory Bell Church who also does events in the coffee shop such as Bible study or live mus...

Pinewood Coffee Shop Review

Image
This week I visited Pinewood Coffee bar located at 2223 Austin Ave B. To properly evaluate this coffee shop, I did some research on an article titled "Top 7 Qualities of a Great Coffee Shop." This list was key to coming up with my final conclusions. The qualities were customer service, cleanliness, atmosphere, quality products, accessibility and convenience, community, and happy barista. If you are an avid coffee enjoyer, you most likely know that good coffee is just one aspect of a high-quality coffee shop. The coffee shop gives off a very welcoming vibe and has various options for seating scattered throughout the building. When you walk in, there is music playing and the entire place is lit up. Windows surround the entirety of the building and provide lots of natural light. The location of the coffee shop was also something special. It is only an 8-minute drive from Baylor campus, making it very accessible and convenient. Something I did notice that wasn't ideal was the...
